Sunrise and sunset are calculated for central London in UK time (GMT/BST). Temperature forecast by Open-Meteo.com (CC BY 4.0).
Where this time comes from
Our server asks the UK National Physical Laboratory's public NTP service — traceable to UTC(NPL) — for the time, measures the network delay, and passes a corrected time to your browser. Your browser then runs the clock locally and re-checks every ten minutes.
The display uses the Europe/London time zone, so it moves between GMT and BST automatically on the last Sundays of March and October.
How accurate is it? Close, but not perfect. The connection between our server and your device adds a small, variable delay that we estimate and correct for, and your screen's refresh rate, browser and device load add a little more. Treat it as a helpful reference for setting a watch, not a certified time instrument — though for a wristwatch it is far more precise than you need.
If the time service can't be reached, the clock clearly switches to your device's own clock, marks it as unsynchronised, and keeps retrying.
